Α short story about the house

The house was built in 1903 by a woman from Kalamitsi named Evdokia.

She was from a relatively wealthy family and she used this house mainly as a storehouse for foodstuffs such as vegetables, wine and oil. Evdokia was a widow with no children, but she had a niece, Anna, who took care of her throughout her life.

When Anna married around 1932 she gave her this house as a dowry, as it had taken on some value due to its central location in the village. Her husband, Spyros was a shoemaker and he used this house as a shoemaker's shop where he had his sewing machine, made the moulds and blew the leather for the shoes. ( You can see the sewing machine and all the parts in the Folklore Museum of the village, which have been donated).

Spyros and Anna had three children, two sons and a daughter. Spyros when he retired leased the house which became a beautiful traditional café for about 7 years. When he passed away at an old age, 99 years old, he bequeathed it to his daughter Angeliki. In turn, Angeliki, a memorable woman , a farmer and with a great love for her children and grandchildren, bequeathed it to her granddaughter Ioanna.

And we come to today where the owners of the house Ιοanna and Hamdi, renovated the house from the beginning with personal work and taste, respecting the tradition and history of the house, and made it a welcoming accommodation for every visitor.
